This an ideal little pick me up snack to get you through the day. Instead of a processed cereal bar or protein bar from the shop, try make these in advance for a natural tasty energy bar. They last up to 3 weeks so you can batch make these with no worries. I find this particularly useful in the morning with a coffee before the gym. Carbs + caffeine is the perfect exercise fuel!
Makes 12 balls
Ingredients:
200g mejdool dates
100g oats
100g dark chocolate
50g almonds
50g hazelnuts
2 tbsp cocoa
3 tsp honey
Method:
Place dates in hot water for 20 minutes to soften
Drain water and place dates and the rest of ingredients into a food processer
Blitz until well combined
With clean hands roll into 12 even balls
